This laboratory was constructed in 2010 in order to train the studentsand industrial engineers in the field of power system and especially the protection relays . The main focus of this laboratory was to build a model near to the Iranian power system since the commercial models neither had the enough flexibility nor the accordance with the Iranian power system.
For modelling a power system and its elements such as substations, lines, and generators, the real voltage of the system is decreased by a factor of 1000, and the currents are scaled down by a factor of 250. For example, a 400 kV 1000 A module is constructed as a 400 V 4 A module.
